A Bagong Nanay’s Guide to Breastfeeding and Lactation Rooms in Metro Manila

    Hi, Bagong Nanays!

Whether you are planning to or currently breastfeeding your child, alam nating hindi siya madali. Kaya naman whatever would help a new mom navigate their breastfeeding journey helps a lot!

I stumbled upon a post on Threads of a Mommy Viktoria Melgo (@mvmlg), listing the lactation and breastfeeding areas she has found in Metro Manila malls (with photos!). With her permission, I compiled them in this article for easy reference for Bagong Nanays. I also included here the comments of moms who shared theirs as well.

    Lactation Rooms in Metro Manila

    Las Piñas

    📍SM Southmall

    2nd floor near Ace Hardware

Spacious for one momma. One at a time lang here, nasa loob ito ng mall clinic. Overall, it’s nice and comfortable, not too cold just enough para hindi pagpawisan. The only con is not allowed ang pag-change ng diaper here, but there’s a diaper changing area in the comfort room across.

    Makati

    📍Powerplant Mall

You have privacy with accordion doors, you can change your baby’s nappy sa cubicle mismo. And pinakaimportant is malamig!! And may bantay na lady guard outside. Ayoko sa lahat yung cramped na lactation room tapos pawis pa kayo ni baby huhu Contributed by @honaluli (no photo)

    📍Rustans (inside Glorietta)

    3rd level

Need I say more? Lactation room ba to o nursery na? 😂 One mom at a time lang since isa lang yung door na pwede ma-lock.

    📍SM Makati

4th level, SM Store near Women’s Intimates area

Very comfortable here. It has two booths and a common changing area with a sink. I like na yung two booths are different (yung isa maliwanag, yung isa dim kasi walang ilaw).

    Mandaluyong City

    📍Shangri-La Plaza

Pros: Malamig, comfy LazyBoy chair, my baby fell asleep while feeding because of the comfy chair and throw pillows, and nice lighting too. There’s a sink, microwave, and changing area also.

Cons: No separate areas for each mom, you’re all in one common room that’s why dads are not allowed inside. Contributed by @nicooolesantos

    Muntinlupa

    📍Festival Mall

Basement level, near Riverpark (below JCo)

It is also nice here! There are three booths with accordion doors so may privacy and may common changing area outside with a sink and a fridge.

Cons here are no companions allowed, and mahina ang signal for both Smart and Globe users.

    📍Rustans, Alabang Town Center

    Baby section, near cashier

Spacious! One mommy at a time lang. It’s nice and cozy here.

    Paranaque

    📍Landmark, Ayala Malls Manila Bay

    Grocery level near Food Court

No privacy! See the glass by the door? I had to put the chair ng nakatalikod para lang di ako kita ng mga nasa labas. Also, the mobile data signal is bad here.

    📍 Ayala Malls Manila Bay

Outside the mall 🥵 Exit near McDonald’s then turn right, nasa dulo (yes, nasa labas ng mall, tapat ng mga PUV)

The room itself is nice, it has two booths. Yung nasa pic is what each booth looks like. Companions are allowed din. Only con is nasa labas siya ng mall. 🤪

    Pasay

    📍Ikea

3rd level, near entrance of showrooms

I also like it here! The only cons is medyo mainit sa loob so might be helpful to bring a fan para comfy kayo ni baby. Pwede din ang companion sa loob.

    📍Okada

    In between Jollibee and Starbucks

I super love it here! Super comfy and pwede mag sleep si baby since tahimik, plus pwede si hubby pumasok sa loob!

    📍SM Mall of Asia

    3rd level, near Mary Grace

I love this. Super spacious, madaming pwede i-accommodate na moms, plus may footrest! Omg, naka tulog si baby here for an hour since walang light sa loob ng booth.

Cons here is mahina signal both Smart and Globe, and hindi rin pwede ang companion sa loob.

    📍S Maison

    Near Coffee Bean

One lactation room area only and no diaper-changing area here. Cozy naman ang ambiance. The only con here is although may glass door, may curtain naman for added privacy.

    Pasig City

    📍 Estancia Mall

Private room and may changing station sa loob. Pwede companion pero mainit ang temperature. Very spacious. Contributed by @4rm_atoz (no photo)

    📍SM Megamall

    3rd level, SM Store

Cool temperature. Bawal ang companion. May changing stations and hot water are a plus. Contributed by @4rm_atoz

    Quezon City

    📍 SM Fairview

Isang room, may three cubicles with a single couch each. @lyneliciousss (no photo)

    📍Trinoma

Six years ago, ‘yung breastfeeding station nila ay nasa loob ng Member’s Lounge. Ngayon, sineperate na nila. This is located sa 3rd floor (ata, hindi ko masyado maalala, basta sa tabi ng Fully Booked!)
Ang lungkot nito compared to what they had before. Allowed ang two moms sa loob, but in my case, I had to wait for the first mom, kasi kasama yung dad sa loob, and jampacked sila with a stroller pa. Contributed by @_tubillokat

    San Juan

    📍Greenhills Mall

    5th level

Really nice here. Many changing stations and breastfeeding booths. Booths can be a little warm so bring a fan! There’s a play area and a lounge (which can be crowded in the afternoon). Overall, the entire place is kinda warm. I think they made it like this para hindi tambayan since wala bantay dito. Companions are allowed here, too!

    Taguig

    📍Mitsukoshi Mall

Wala akong picture but super ganda doon! Hahaha. May CR sa loob para sa family. May parking area ng mga stroller. Three ung private rooms. Contributed by @zandragonslayer (no photo)

    📍One Bonifacio High Street

    Upper Ground, near Cole Haan

With fee, but naalala ko hindi naman super mahal. With 2 lactation booths and common changing area with sink. They call it a Family Lounge, and yes, very spacious and multiple families can tambay/rest at the same time. With small play area and madaming cubicle for both male & female restrooms. Very comfy mag rest here nakatulog si hubs! 😆 Contributed by @leysvelasquez

    📍SM Aura

    4th floor beside Fully Booked

There are three breastfeeding booths that have comfy chairs and a side table each. Only one changing station (no pad, just plain countertop), so there might be waiting time, which is okay lang kasi may couch naman na pwede paghintayan.

Another con besides the one changing station is that there’s a 40-minute time limit for each mom. May attendant to check, which I don’t think is a con naman since it’s enough time naman yun for one feed and nap ni baby.
